Role Overview

We are looking for a motivated Junior Server Administrator to join our IT infrastructure team. In this entry-level role, you will assist in managing and maintaining our server environments, ensuring system reliability and performance while gaining valuable experience in server administration and support.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the deployment and configuration of server operating systems and applications
• Monitor server performance, identifying and troubleshooting issues proactively
• Support system backups and recovery processes to ensure data integrity
• Collaborate with senior administrators to implement security measures and best practices
• Document technical procedures and configurations for internal knowledge sharing
• Participate in incident response and resolution efforts, providing timely support to end-users

Required and Preferred Qualifications

Required:

• Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent practical experience
• Basic understanding of server operating systems (Windows Server, Linux) and networking concepts
• Familiarity with troubleshooting hardware and software issues

Preferred:

• Experience with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure) and virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V)
• Knowledge of scripting languages (PowerShell, Bash) to automate routine tasks

Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies

• Understanding of Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP
• Proficiency in using monitoring tools to assess server health and performance
• Familiarity with backup solutions and data recovery processes

Soft Skills and Cultural Fit

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a detail-oriented mindset
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• A willingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic environment

Salary range: $75k to $95k
